Down Comforters Selection

Not everyone needs the full set. That’s why Down Comforter Sets gladly presents you its selection of down comforters. When choosing a down comforter, you need to consider many points: colors, patterns, stitches, thread counts, fill power, size.

Tips:
1. Choose a color that will complement your sheets and decoration
2. If you have a busy decor, you may want to go for solid colors as patterns can make your bedroom look even busier.
3. Stitches can complement the decor of your bedroom. They are also there to keep the down in place.
4. The higher the thread count is, the softer your down comforter will be. A higher thread count will also minimize the chances of down leakage.
5. The higher the fill power, the fluffier you down comforter will be and the warmer it will be.
6. There are different level of down comforter warmth. Some levels are more appropriate for cold winters while others are more appropriate for warmer temperatures (spring/fall)
7. Choose your down comforter slightly larger, so the side of the comforter will fall elegantly on the side of your bed.
8. If you have kids, you may consider a kid comforter set or a comforter set alternative, because they are cheaper, especially if the down comforter has to be dry cleaned. Chances are that you will have to change their comforter sets quite often.
9. If you are allergic to down, you can choose a hypoallergenic down comforter, or its cheaper alternative, a down comforter alternative.

We just got this down comforter. The quality is very nice. We had an Eddie Bauer one that lasted us for years (until my unfortunate decision to try to launder it at home destroyed it!), and I would say that this one is just as well made and I love that it is gusseted. Our EB one cost us roughly $175 on sale, so this one is a little cheaper comparatively — I looked very seriously at purchasing of the REALLY cheap options, but I decided that once I factored in the amount of use this comforter would be receiving (and the very true adage of you get what you pay for), this one seemed like the smarter buy. The panels aren’t as full of weathers as I was hoping, but my expectations might be too high — I don’t know how many feathers you can stuff in to these things safely!
